Prague - Near the tram loop and railway stop in Prague's Hostivař, future plans include the construction of a city hall for Prague 15, a polyclinic, shops, and apartments. The new development will cover an area of approximately 15 hectares. This stems from the results of an urban planning competition, which Prague officials acknowledged today. The competition was announced by the company Zelená Hostivař, which owns part of the land. The jury included representatives from the city hall and the Prague 15 district. The winning proposal was submitted by a consortium made up of the studios UNIT, A69, DUA, Land05, and ONplan lab.

The new Hostivař center, as the project is called, will be bordered to the north by the railway line, to the south by student dormitories, and to the west by apartment buildings on Kozmíkova Street. More than 15 organizations and companies currently own the land in the designated area. Primarily, it features roads, sidewalks, and greenery. In addition to apartments, the area is designated for a new office for Prague 15, a polyclinic, and shops. There are also plans for a new square.

"Wherever possible, we will expose the Měcholupský stream, refreshing the microclimate in the built-up center and enhancing the experience in the adjacent parks. A courtyard with a community square will also be added, where markets can be held in the summer and ice skating in the winter,” stated landscape architect Martina Forejtová from the Land05 studio after announcing the winning project.

The urban planning competition was announced in the fall of 2023. It had three phases, each concluding with a joint workshop of the competitors, the expert jury, and invited specialists.
