Atrium bungalow

The house is located in Bratislava, in the old part of the Dúbravka urban district. A narrow and long plot with a north-south orientation, with both neighbors in close proximity on either side. The brief was clear – a bungalow, 3 bedrooms, an office, and a living space. No garage, just a parking area and a storage space. The idea of an atrium became a logical outcome of the effort to achieve a basic intimate exterior space in the otherwise confined situation of the house on the plot. The atrium space became the center of the layout, around which the entire spatial concept unfolds. Through large-scale glazed walls and a glass roof, the atrium became an optional extension of the dining area, living room, and one of the bedrooms. The house is realized as a prefabricated wooden structure.
