Apartment Prague-Karlín

Apartment Prague-Karlín
Architect: Radek Sládeček
Completion:2018

The apartment from the 1930s was interesting at first glance due to its structural design, which was significantly reflected in the shape of individual rooms even in its original state. After conducting probes, the assumption was confirmed that the main load-bearing system is a reinforced concrete skeleton. These elements were therefore exposed in their raw form and significantly complement the preserved original doors, including fittings, windows, and oak parquet flooring.
The layout was slightly modified; relocating the bathroom deeper into the hall space allowed for a sufficiently large living room with a kitchen, dining area, and living room. The new furniture elements are designed in white laminate complemented by oak veneer.
