Zemid and airy. The apartment is located in a 1970s building, which immediately captures attention with its brutalist architecture, shaped by architect Karel Filsak, and rows of strip windows.

In the living room and bathroom, we exposed concrete columns that form the load-bearing part of the building's structure. Another layout change stemmed from the client's request. He desired a more spacious bathroom, so we expanded it at the expense of the technical room/walk-in closet. We replaced the storage spaces with a set of built-in wardrobes in the hallway, thus appropriately utilizing the unnecessarily wide passage.

The apartment is divided into a living area, where the emphasis is on openness and airiness. The flow of daylight and air is ensured by the entrance along the facade between the bedroom and the living room. There are also glass skylights – we used them above all the doors and also placed them in the bathroom and toilet.

The hygienic facilities are designed in darker colors. The intimacy of these spaces is enhanced by muted sanitary fittings.

We connected both parts with an oak floor and concrete screed. The wooden floor is also used in the bedroom and living room. The wood transitions under the kitchen island, thus conceptually separating the living area of the apartment from the technical and communication background.

The entire space is furnished with custom-made furniture. Some pieces are subtly white, while others prominently feature dark oak veneer – especially in exposed places.

The most prominent element in the living room is the kitchen, which enhances the core of the entire apartment. The kitchen cabinetry is designed in oak veneer, complemented by a concrete countertop with embedded, cast stones in darker brown shades. The kitchen island is designed in the same finish.

Another significant material is metal, which can be found in every room. Whether in the form of a library, bar stools, or pedestals for nightstands. Neutral colors highlight the artworks hanging on the walls and complement the entire interior colorfully.
