For daring investors, architects designed a small mobile hotel made from used shipping containers. Its first location was chosen at a surfers' camp on the banks of the Elbe near Litoměřice.

The brief for the architects from the ARTIKUL studio was to design a mobile, easily demountable seasonal hotel from three shipping containers. Additionally, the building needed to be as self-sufficient and environmentally friendly as possible. The entire construction was completed in about four months.

The hotel, with five rooms for a total of thirteen guests, consists of two twenty-foot containers and a high forty-foot container placed crosswise on top of them. The lower containers house the sanitary facilities, technical background, storage, and one four-bed room. The upper container contains four rooms. Access to these rooms is through a shared terrace with a beautiful view of the river and the landscape, towards the first hills of the Czech Central Mountains. All rooms have one wall entirely made of glass, creating a sense of spaciousness despite the small area and allowing contact with the surrounding landscape from the interior.

The walls and ceilings of all rooms are lined with birch plywood, from which all completely atypical furniture is also made. The rooms are differentiated by various colors of natural marmoleum flooring and complemented by black industrial lighting and details, just like in the container with sanitary facilities. Inside, the trapezoidal sheet metal of the containers is revealed, combined with terrace boards on the floor.

The economical and minimalist solutions of used elements and materials merge with the hotel's philosophy referring to modern nomadism, seaside beach atmosphere, and nautical themes. This is evoked by the dark blue containers with original graphics, as well as the round windows and railings made from ship ropes and textile nets.

The containers are placed solely on railway sleepers, functioning entirely independently and autonomously, connected only to the local electricity supply. The container with the sanitary facilities has a built-in capacity tank with water for showers and washbasins, where battery-operated timers and aerators are installed for maximum water savings. Only ecological biodegradable soaps and shampoos are used in the hotel, and modern separation toilets are installed. To prevent the rooms from overheating in summer, the glazed walls of the upper container are shaded by an awning, and the facades are clad with sunshades made from waste battens and offcuts from a nearby sawmill.
