Installation for the traveling exhibition "Uniquities of Regional Museums"
Address: Opava, Praha, Brno, Czech Republic
Completion:2014

This is an exhibition object for the planned traveling exhibition "Unique Treasures of Regional Museums" as part of the "200 Years of Museum Studies" event. It is a collaborative project of three museums - the Silesian Museum in Opava, the Moravian Museum in Brno, and the National Museum in Prague.
The object will serve to house three main exhibits - the Celtic Head from Mšecké Žehrovic, the Venus of Věstonice, and a meteorite from Opava-Kylešovice. The exhibits will be displayed in glass display cases. Given the traveling nature of the exhibition among the three museums, the object will be dismantlable.

Concept
This is a case for the three main exhibits - treasures of museum studies. The concept is based on creating an atmosphere of mystery. The object mirrors the outside, becoming invisible - it reflects the surrounding contemporary events. In contrast, the interior is black, covered in fabric, a mysterious box where time alters and historical treasures are hidden.

The object will be placed in the central hall of the Historical Exhibition Building of the Silesian Museum. It will then be moved to the New Building of the National Museum in Prague and the Moravian Museum in Brno. Material solution - the outer walls will be mirrored - polished stainless steel. The inner surfaces will be matte black - walls and ceiling covered with textile wallpaper, and there will be a black carpet on the floor.
