The Beskydy village of Morávka, located on the banks of the stream of the same name, is wedged between the massifs of Travný and Slavíč. With a cadastral area of 8735 ha, it is one of the largest municipalities in the Beskids.
The original municipal office was located on the 2nd floor of the fire station, which, together with the nearby Jednota store, formed an imaginary, not very pronounced center of the vast mountain village.
The new municipal office building is an extension to the existing Jednota store, shifted from the street line by the area of the parking lot. This, along with the simple, prismatic solution of the building's mass, speaks to the importance of the building and the place.
The original meat store, which was adjacent to the Jednota store, has been converted into an entrance area to the office, where the municipal library is now located and can also serve as an information center. Part of the extension, which accommodates the office's offices with a meeting room, also includes a branch of Czech Post.
The entrances to both the municipal office and the Jednota store are designed from the area, which comprises a paved space and adjoining public greenery.
The resulting spatial solution, along with the composition of the masses of existing and new buildings, now creates a more recognizable center of the village.
