The family house is located on a small irregular plot in the wider center of Duchcov. It was built in the 1920s, and it is a building with a square floor plan, featuring two above-ground floors, an attic space, and partial cellar. On the southwest side, there is an added entrance area, and on the southeast street facade, there is a ground-floor protrusion. The house is topped with a mansard roof. The house has a classic "four-part" layout for its time of construction, with two living rooms, a staircase hall, and sanitary facilities on the ground floor. In the northern corner of the plot, there is a newer garage.
The reconstruction was primarily aimed at partially changing the way the space is used, thus leading to a new layout solution. The house is newly divided into two units: a doctor's office on the ground floor, while the rest is intended for living; the capacity of the spaces occupied by the office is compensated by newly utilized attic space. The mass solution is essentially left intact, with the exception of the dormers added for the usability of the attic.
The main entrance, vestibule, and staircase hall are part of the residential area; on the 2nd floor, the current staircase area is followed by a new curved staircase leading to the attic. The semicircle of the new staircase, clad in wooden veneer, translates into the living space, separating the kitchen area from the sitting area. The entrance to the office is accessed from the garage's front space. On the ground floor, a direct entrance to the garden has been created on the northern side.
The house is made of solid bricks, with additional insulation and plaster. The roofing consists of metal tiles. The basic attributes of the house have been restored, such as the main wooden staircase, parquet floors, or replaced with replicas like the double-glazed windows with insulating glass, including the stained glass ones. The outdoor spaces have also been restored, especially the new brick pavements and the street portion of the fence.
