Project:2016-24
Completion:2024

The residential complex Old Brewery is located in the very historical heart of the Brno district of Královo Pole, not far from the Gothic-Baroque monastery with the Church of the Holy Trinity. It is a place situated behind the currently sensitively reconstructed former monastery brewery and malt house from the 18th century.

The residential building is situated along the western boundary of the Baroque buildings with views into its own generous park. It is a six-story building with a seventh floor at the corner of Kollárova Street. The ground floor houses comfortable parking spaces. Each floor features comfortable dual-aspect residential units, accessible from a shared gallery, located on the western façade of the building. The shapes of the building are distinctly articulated with triangular consoles, balconies, and terraces. The rich architectural form is chosen with regard to the sunlight in each apartment and the context of the historic Baroque buildings. The small scale of the articulated façade is supported by a masonry facing in a natural color. Special emphasis was placed on well-developed detailed solutions, whether it concerns natural stone cladding in the entrance halls, quality cladding, façade plastering, and stair railings, etc.

An undeniable advantage of this project is the orientation of the windows from each apartment towards the shared park with abundant greenery and seating areas. This has created a peaceful residential enclave that is also comfortably connected to public transport, the city ring road, and nearby amenities such as shops, schools, and kindergartens. The "Old Brewery" will thus be complemented by the "New Brewery," an ideal place for quiet family living not far from the city center.
