The investor carefully selected a site for the house on the edge of the western slope above Blansko, with a view into the Blansko valley, with a forest on the north side and a meadow on the south side. The views and sightlines from the house into the surrounding nature connecting the house to the natural frame were one of the determining spatial concepts of the house. Unfortunately, the southern meadow has gradually been built up over time with not very high-quality satellite developments of family houses.
The simple composition of two masses placed perpendicularly to each other created the basic layout of the house. The cross-oriented white block is set perpendicularly to the longitudinal wall designed from broken stone, which delineates the spatially and height-wise structured living space. This space also includes the first room of the house, which is entered from the outside – an outdoor enclosed atrium. From this atrium, a sightline opens across the entire house to the Blansko basin. The entire living space is concluded with an elevated living room, which is defined by not only its increased ceiling height but also by a fully glazed railing.
The entrance to the upper floor is via a single flight wooden staircase designed in the interior as a multifunctional wooden box, used on both sides as storage space or as part of the kitchen.
The upper bedroom floor is designed this time with a cross view into the forest to the north and into the landscape to the south. All living rooms are oriented toward the garden with a view into the valley.
The composition of the windows is not accidental; each window has its own character, shape, and size, adjusted to the interior space, its function, orientation, and the requirement for views or lighting. At the same time, all windows are unified in a consistent geometric module.
The house has three terraces – a living terrace open to the garden, a breakfast terrace enclosed in the entrance atrium, and a relaxation terrace on the roof of the living space with an unbeatable view of the sunset over Blansko.
