Exhibition curator: Jiří Machalický Graphic works: Radka Machalická
Jan Stolín is known for his sculptures made from industrial materials or light installations created for specific environments. They are varied in their solutions and minimalist in their choice of elements. They alternate between strictly geometric and freely intertwining organic shapes. They are often accompanied by sound reacting to the movement of the audience. They become a refined interpretation of exteriors and interiors, whether gallery spaces or other profane and sacred areas. In this project, the author draws from the structure of the monumental Baroque architecture of St. Lawrence's Church and prepares an installation that responds to its atmosphere and scale.
