Gallery VI PER warmly invites you to a lecture and guided tour of the exhibition Metabolic Rift with its authors Tomáš Uhnák and Jirka Skála.
According to the United Nations, 68% of the world's population will live in cities by 2050, where resources, including food for the nutrition of human society, are concentrated. However, human nutrition precedes the nutrition of plants and animals. It is achieved in different ways, depending on the type of agronomic regime shaped by specific values and ideologies. The binary division between rural areas, where nutrients are created, and urban centers, where we import nutrients from around the world and do not return them to the places from which they were taken, represents one of the greatest problems of our civilization, expressed by the theory of metabolic rift. The presentation of the global flow of nutrients and paradigms of achieving soil fertility is the subject of the exhibition at the VIPER gallery by authors Tomáš Uhnák and Jirka Skála.
