Bohumín – From Havlíčkův Brod in the Vysočina region, 28 modules of a new administrative building for the local city hospital in Bohumín in the Karviná district are on their way. The individual parts of the two-story structure, which are already equipped with floors, walls, windows, and sanitary facilities, will begin loading onto trucks today. The first modules are expected to arrive at the hospital campus on Monday morning. Over the course of three days, a complete building should emerge using a crane. This was stated by the city spokesperson Jana Končítková today. The construction, costing 40 million crowns, aims to free up space for expanding outpatient care.

The building is being constructed at the contractor's facility in Havlíčkův Brod. It will be transported to Bohumín in a highly completed state. Workers in Bohumín will primarily finish the connections between the modules, the facade, and the roof, and will connect the structure to the engineering networks. The assembly of individual parts is set to begin on Monday, August 24, and according to the schedule, it should be completed by Wednesday, August 26.

The city opted for modular construction primarily for time savings. The two-story building in the shape of the letter L consists of 28 steel modules. According to previous statements from the city, this is also a pilot project for the contractor, who previously only had experience with single-story modular structures.

The new building will contain 17 offices and two meeting rooms. Employees currently located in Pavilion D of the Bohumín City Hospital will move there. The hospital intends to convert the freed-up spaces into outpatient clinics for specialists. "We are not building a new building just for the sake of offices but to enable the hospital to free up space for additional healthcare services more quickly," stated Bohumín's deputy mayor Igor Bruzl (independent).

The administrative facility is being constructed in the back part of the hospital complex in Stary Bohumín. Its heating will be provided by a heat pump. After the assembly is completed, the interior will be furnished, and according to the original schedule, the building is expected to be approved at the end of this year.
