Some time ago, representatives of the Kadaň local government initiated a continuation of the discussion about the future of the historical Špitálské suburb in Kadaň, which was razed to the ground in the 1960s, and we have yet to find a way to heal the scar created and dignifiedly return normal life to the area.
The provisional result of these reflections is a sketch in the form of a large-scale working animation and a physical model currently displayed in the Church of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist, which once formed the spiritual center of a pulsating urban district.
The authors of the sketch are architects Michal Fišer and Jáchym Vacek from the studio třiarchitekti, but the creative process is open to everyone who cares about the state of the environment in which we live, want to live, and which we will one day pass on to our descendants.
The work is part of the Kadaň Visions event organized by the City of Kadaň, showcasing currently developed projects for the city. They will be presented together by their authors at the mini-conference and moderated discussion on September 19, 2025, at 15:00 in the aula of the Secondary School of Civil Engineering in Kadaň.
