The Museum of Art Olomouc can boast recent acquisitions of works from the studio of Alena Šrámková, Lukáš Ehl and Tomáš Koumar, thanks to the successors of her atelier. The specific handwriting of architectural sketches by Alena Šrámková excellently introduces the chapter Searching in the exhibition Architecture in Process. We will explore the exhibition, comment on it in more detail, and pause together with art historian Rostislav Švácha over the work of the first lady of Czech architecture. Who better to provide a more convincing picture than her long-time friend and editor of her latest monograph? Alena Šrámková passed away on March 10, 2022, exactly one year later we will commemorate her fresh legacy for the history of 20th-century Czech architecture.
