The four-month open-air festival Žižkovská spojka is starting, transforming the landscape of Lower Žižkov into a space for artistic interventions, exhibitions, performances, and debates on the relationship between art, architecture, and the city. We invite you to the opening pop-up: Friday, June 26, 2026, from 18:00, Husitská 22, Prague 3. The festival will last until October 11, 2026 and will offer a diverse program at various locations in Lower Žižkov throughout the summer.

Žižkovská spojka is an international multidisciplinary project that builds upon the tradition of summer Landscape festivals, which have been held in Žižkov irregularly since 2014, always from June to September, but also on the first edition of Žižkovská spojka, which took place as a one-month open-air festival in the urban landscape and public space of Prague 3 during September 2021.
Žižkovská spojka and the Landscape festival are unique events within the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, and urbanism, combining popular scientific content with purely professional elements. They aim to present the issues of these fields to a broader public and thus increase interest in the cultivation of public space. At the same time, it strives to raise awareness of the scope and purpose of landscape architecture in relation to contemporary architecture and public space among the Czech architectural and urban planning community. The festival also serves as a mediator and platform for dialogue between civil society and political representatives.
The city district of Prague 3 recognizes the importance of revitalizing the former transportation brownfield. This area is undergoing further transformation into a cultural hub and has already become an important part of Prague's culture. Žižkovská spojka 2026 aims to support the activities of the city council, which has a clear vision for transforming the Prague Gordian knot in the broader Florence area in connection with the entrance portal to Lower Žižkov. The broader area of Krenovka can be considered a new multidisciplinary creative center of Žižkov.
The project refers not only to the cultural traditions of this city district but also to broader historical and cultural activities associated with the Vítkov hill. This area is currently undergoing revitalization in relation to the transformation of the urban landscape and public space of Lower Žižkov, which began with the transformation of the bike path and continued with the reconstruction of Tachovské náměstí.
The main activity of ŽS will feature a series of site-specific installations and interventions, an exhibition focused on the history, present, and especially the future of (Lower Žižkov and) Krenovka, and a rich accompanying multidisciplinary program including debates, a series of lectures, and artistic performances. The programming will involve renowned organizations based in the cultural campus Krenovka – Divadlo Ponec, Unijazz, Architectura, Krenovka, and Trať 42.
The fundamental idea of the project is to revitalize the architectural and cultural heritage of Lower Žižkov while highlighting the historical urban structure and industrial topography of this location. Artistic and architectural interventions into the urban landscape seeking individual solutions for specific places will strengthen the genius loci. Cultural-social inclusion becomes intellectual material for maintaining the specificity of this historical urban landscape near the center of Prague.
