Trutnov – In the center of the thirty-thousand-strong town of Trutnov, reconstruction of the Republic Square will begin on Tuesday, August 18, and will last until the end of October. The start of the construction will require temporary traffic restrictions, said Adéla Ščudlová, spokesperson for the Trutnov City Hall, to ČTK today. The work will be carried out by OKTA Group. The investor is the city, which will pay three million crowns for the reconstruction.
The traffic area of the square in the section from the roundabout towards the cadastral office will undergo surface renewal. "Paved sidewalks will be created on both sides of the road, and the roadway will be covered with a new asphalt surface. Near the location where the information board currently stands, a completely new parking bay for four cars designated for short-term parking will be created," said Ščudlová.
Regarding the restrictions, a safe passage for pedestrians will be ensured throughout the duration of the work on one of the sidewalks. Traffic in the street will be possible at least in one lane at all times.
"The only more significant restriction will occur at the end of the construction when there will be a one-day complete closure due to the laying of the final asphalt layer," added Ščudlová. The City Hall will inform about the exact date of the complete closure on the website.
