ZUMTOBEL GROUP AWARD 2014 has been announced

For the fourth time, the Zumtobel Group is announcing a competition for architects aimed at higher quality of life and sustainability in the built environment – the ZUMTOBEL GROUP AWARD – INNOVATIONS FOR SUSTAINABILITY AND HUMANITY IN THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT.
Architectural and engineering offices, urban and spatial planners, universities, young technology firms, non-governmental organizations, as well as public and private initiatives can submit their current projects from September 1 to November 30, 2013.

Three Categories
The ZUMTOBEL GROUP AWARD is announced in the following three categories, each represented by one of the three brands of the international lighting group:

• Buildings
• Urban Developments & Initiatives
• Applied Innovations

Zumtobel Category "Buildings"
In the "Buildings" category – represented by Zumtobel – projects for buildings completed in the last two years (November 30, 2011 to November 30, 2013) can be submitted. This category includes both new construction projects and renovation projects. The awarded project must meet the highest aesthetic demands and must demonstrate innovative solutions for optimized use of natural resources, nature conservation, and improvement of living conditions. The jury will place special emphasis on the application of the latest technologies.

Curators and Award Ceremony
The curators of the Zumtobel Group Award 2014 will again be Kristin Feireiss and Hans-Jürgen Commerell from Aedes Architekturforum in Berlin, as in previous years. In the first round, the jury will select 14 projects from the submissions for each category. The main jury, composed of internationally recognized experts from various disciplines, will nominate five projects for each category in spring 2014 and will select one award winner from those. The award ceremony will take place in the autumn of 2014.
