Prague - The final nomination for the Building of the Year 2008 competition has progressed with 15 out of a total of 61 registered projects. The winning five buildings will be announced by the expert jury on October 20, the organizers of the competition said today. Among the finalists are the Moravian Regional Archive in Brno, a suspended bridge on the D47 highway over the Odra River, and the metro line from Ládví to Letňany. The shortlist also includes the Prague recreational complex Park Holiday, the Masaryk University Study and Information Center in Brno, the reconstruction of Hotel Imperial Prague, a wastewater treatment plant in Náměšť nad Oslavou, the convention center in Janská Lázně, and the multifunctional football complex SK Slavia Prague. The nomination was also earned by the senior care home Hagibor, the residential complex "V Lukách" in Horní Počernice, the reconstruction of the former Carthusian Monastery for the Faculty of IT at VUT in Brno, the aircraft repair center in Mošnov, the mountain road Chomutov-Křimov, and the administrative center of the Hradec Králové Region.
