Pardubice - Six buildings in the Pardubice Region were awarded the Building of the Year title today. In the sixth year of the competition, the jury evaluated 22 submitted projects that were developed in the past two years. In four categories, two honorable mentions were also awarded. In the category of family and apartment houses, the judges praised the sensitive reconstruction of the Baroque rectory in Dašice in the Pardubice Region. Two awards were given in the civil amenities category, for the new wellness center building at the Jezerka hotel near Sečská Dam in the Chrudim Region and for the renovation of the IT center of the University of Pardubice in Čs. legií Square. Among industrial and agricultural buildings and water management structures, the waste crushing plant of Ecorec Prachovice in the Chrudim Region was awarded. In the category of engineering and transportation constructions and public spaces, the new technical facilities of Pardubice civil airport with expanded movement areas and the tourist route "Path from Renaissance to Baroque" in Moravská Třebová received an award. The jury also awarded two honorable mentions for the renovation of the Pardubice Swimming Complex and for the design of the purpose-built industrial water reservoir in the Spa of Lázně Bohdaneč in the Pardubice Region. This year, for the first time, the public was given the opportunity to vote on the competition's website. Of more than 4000 votes, nearly half went to the IT center of the Pardubice University.
