Brno - The Brno University of Technology announced a competition on December 28, 2012, for the design of a new building for the Faculty of Fine Arts. The subject of the competition is the preparation of an urban-architectural study - the design of a new building for the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Brno University of Technology, which will be located in the cadastral area of Královo Pole, in the city of Brno. The competition proposal must be tailored to the location of the building. The construction must be realizable in two phases.

Selection of information from the competition conditions:

The envelope of the new building for the Faculty of Fine Arts (hereinafter referred to as "Construction") must be classified at least in class "B" in terms of energy consumption.

The materials and technologies used must comply with the standards of the Brno University of Technology.

The competition proposal must comply with the client's requirement for a maximum estimated price for the construction project, which will be subject to the proposal, in the amount of up to 320 million CZK excluding VAT.

The technical qualification requirements are met by a participant who has properly implemented at least two significant services in the last three years.
A significant service is understood as
1. the preparation of a study for a construction project, based on which all necessary stages of project documentation for the issuance of a building permit were subsequently prepared, and a valid building permit was then issued,
or
2. the preparation of project documentation, based on which a valid building permit was issued, with each individual case involving a construction project with implementation costs of at least 150 million CZK excluding VAT

The deadline for submitting competition proposals is set for March 21, 2013.

Cancellation of the proposal competition
The client reserves the right, in accordance with the provisions of § 108 of the Act, to cancel the proposal competition at any time before the jury's decision on the ranking of proposals. In such a case, no participant is entitled to any competition prize.

Copyright
Each competition proposal must include a participant's proposal for signing a license agreement between the client and the winning participant regarding the use of their competition proposal, prepared according to the binding business conditions, which are attached to these competition conditions, signed by the participant.
The business conditions must not be changed by the applicant when preparing the proposal for the contract; they can only be supplemented where this results from the text of the business conditions. A participant who does not submit a proposal for a license agreement in the inner envelope marked "Author" will be excluded from further participation in the proposal competition.

Citation from the Contract:
3. The provider hereby grants the acquirer the right to use the work (hereinafter referred to as "license") in an unlimited scope (especially in terms of time) and for all forms of its use under the conditions specified further in this contract.
4. The right to use the work in the sense of this contract means uninterrupted use of the work as a basis especially for the preparation of project documentation and subsequently for the actual implementation of the construction of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Brno University of Technology.
