We cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition
Kamil Mrva Architects 1999-2013
at the Gallery of Architecture Brno on Thursday, September 26, 2013, at 18:00.
Architect Kamil Mrva is one of the most prominent representatives of the younger generation of Czech architects. Shortly after graduating from the Faculty of Architecture in Brno and establishing his own studio in his hometown of Kopřivnice, his wooden constructions gained significant recognition, combining contemporary architectural forms with traditional materials and the landscape features of the Beskydy region. Today, his studio undertakes projects in a much broader area, at various scales, and with a greater variety of materials; however, they still reflect a commitment to moderation, simplicity, and the pursuit of new paths while respecting the trails already blazed by our ancestors. The exhibition at the Gallery of Architecture Brno will present an overview of the work of Kamil Mrva Architects. Although the projects from this studio are no longer exclusively tied to the North Moravian region and, in addition to the Kopřivnice office, a branch was established in Prague last year, particular emphasis will be placed on the collaboration with the Valachian municipality of Trojanovice, for which Kamil Mrva has prepared or is preparing a number of small public building projects. The designs for Trojanovice are also the subject of a publication that will be launched at the exhibition's opening.
