Ferdinand Konček (1929), Iľja Skoček (1930), and Ľubomír Titl (1929) graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering in Bratislava in 1952. They worked in a long-term creative partnership based on their exceptional personal and professional friendship and understanding, which was strengthened during their master's studies in Prague at the Academy of Fine Arts under Professor Jaroslav Fragner. They were united by a humanistic attitude toward the world, creative application of the tradition of functionalism, and a shared artistic sensibility.
Their work is characterized by a sincere concern for the user and the environment that the work becomes a part of. The exhibition presents a selection from the wide collaborative output of the trio of architects, including unrealized works. Special attention is given to two tasks they have long been engaged with since their time in Prague. These are the Bratislava Podhradie, which connects with the issue of the Hradný vrch and the House of Trade Unions, Technology, and Culture, today known as Istropolis. Hradný vrch and Podhradie are among the determining elements of the image of Bratislava. Their appropriate depiction is still sought today, and the designs of the trio of architects have become a significant part of the discussion on this issue.
The exhibition is the first presentation of the joint works of the architects, but also reveals the thought process that lies behind the current forms of some well-known works.
