Olomouc – The Museum of Art in Olomouc is preparing a new exhibition project this autumn titled Architecture in Process. It aims to involve architects themselves. Their offices are expected to become part of the exhibition presenting various aspects of architectural work in history and today. They should also participate in the visual design and concept of a new museum exhibition themed around sculpture, which the museum plans for the coming years. Architects can apply to the museum's call until May 11, said museum representative Klára Jeništová to ČTK.

The exhibition Architecture in Process, based on the museum's collections, will provide visitors with an overview not only of the stages of an architectural project but will also capture the development of architecture across the 19th and 20th centuries to the present day. "We want to demonstrate how a building is created from the beginning; student works of future architects, competition projects, and the actual architectural planning from sketches through conceptual designs to real plans will also be included," noted Jeništová from the museum's architecture department.

The exhibition project, which will take place from November 24 to mid-January next year, will also dedicate space to the contemporary form of architecture that has completely shifted from drafting boards to computers. "We want to offer viewers an insight into what current architectural practice looks like. Our call highlights this," added Jeništová. An architect who succeeds in the museum call will receive a residency at the museum, during which their office will become part of the exhibition showcasing various aspects of architectural work in history and today.

According to museum representatives, the architect will also have the opportunity to actively participate in creating the visual form and architectural concept of the collection exhibition with a sculpture theme. This exhibition project is planned by the museum for 2024, and the season's highlight will be an exhibition of the collection of sculptures set in the main hall of the Museum of Art Olomouc - the Triple-Nave. The exhibition is expected to offer various forms of artistic interpretation as well as space for experimentation. "We expect that they will bring their creativity, a new perspective, and can significantly enliven it," added Jeništová.
