Bank in Udine by Morphosis

The banking house Hypo Alpe Adria opened on October 6, 2006, in Tavagnacco, Italy (north of Udine) the main headquarters of its subsidiary. The author of the new bank headquarters, named “Alpe-Adria-Area”, is the American deconstructivist Thom Mayne. The new seven-story building covers a total area of 110,000 m² and cost 36 million Euros. It also includes a hotel, conference center, swimming pool, fitness center, and kindergarten. The very slender office building is entirely tilted at an angle of 14 degrees, which the builder explains by stating that it is a unique property and also because the building is located in a seismically active area.
