American real estate investor Durst Fetner Residential has introduced a project for a residential building with six hundred apartments. The pyramid designed by the Danish studio BIG is set to rise in New York's Manhattan between West 57th Street and 11th Avenue. Bjarke Ingels describes his residential block, which boasts an impressive area of 80,000 m², with the following words: “The building is to be a cross between European block developments and American skyscrapers.” At its highest point, the residential block is expected to reach a height of 140 meters. The opposing sides of the building are terraced, ensuring that all apartments have the same lighting conditions. At BIG, they have designed another residential mountain, similar to several that already stand in Copenhagen. For Ingels, who opened another branch in New York earlier this year, this would be his first project on the North American continent.
