Architect Marie Joja, as part of her doctoral studies at the Faculty of Architecture, presents a newly created web database titled archipop.
The database maps successful pop-up implementations across Europe. It focuses on the temporary use of abandoned properties as part of their reactivation. Selected projects are presented using cards, and their selection can be filtered by specific criteria.
The database provides comprehensive information regarding selected case studies, focusing on the analysis of various aspects of their implementation. The projects include both Czech and international examples from large cities as well as small municipalities.
The database is publicly accessible, and its aim is to inform both professionals and the general public about the possibilities of temporary use of properties as a tool for finding a sustainable way of long-term functional use. In future phases of this platform's development, translation into English and the creation of a manual to clarify the process of activating abandoned properties are planned.
The list of projects is regularly updated, and you can also get involved in its expansion!
