Dolní Dvůr (Trutnovsko) - The municipality of Dolní Dvůr in the Krkonošsko region rejected the plan of a Dutch company to build 42 holiday cottages. Two-thirds of the residents of Dolní Dvůr opposed the construction of the so-called Dutch village in a survey, and last week the local council also expressed disapproval. This was reported by today's Mladá fronta Dnes in the supplement for Hradec Králové region.
The Dutch wanted to build the village in Dolní Dvůr above the local ski area. According to the deputy mayor of Dolní Dvůr, David Neumann, the councilors also rejected a limited variant of the village with the construction of only 17 cottages. "Local entrepreneurs were mainly in favor of building the Dutch village," said Neumann.
The Krkonošsko and Podkrkonoší regions are popular among the Dutch, and several Dutch villages with modernly equipped cottages have already been established in the area. They are, for example, in Čistá near Vrchlabí and in Stupná near Nová Paka in the Jičín region.
Other municipalities in the Krkonošsko region do not object to the arrival of investors and construction, according to MfD. For example, in Pec pod Sněžkou, six apartment buildings with underground parking are set to start rising by spring next year. In Janske Lazne, the Irish company Blackwater Properties is preparing the construction of a recreational complex with a parking garage, two hotels, a restaurant, and indoor sports facilities. In Černý Důl, around 80 new buildings, predominantly family houses, are expected to be built in the next four years.
