Karviná - The new sports complex is set to begin construction this year in front of the Commercial Academy building in the Hranice district of Karviná. Its construction is expected to cost around 40 million crowns, said Lukáš Hudeček, spokesman for the Karviná city council, to ČTK today.

"In 2017, an architectural study was prepared, including visualizations for the use of the existing inadequate sports facility at the Commercial Academy. Following this study, the public procurement for the development of project documentation is now being prepared," Hudeček specified.

The sports facility will enable several diverse activities. It will include, for example, a small fenced football field, a playground with play equipment, a pump track used by cyclists, and there will also be a parkour area where various obstacles will be jumped over. Additionally, there will be an inline skating track surrounding a running circuit. Plans also include the construction of a multipurpose playing area.

The complex will also feature social facilities, parking spaces, benches, and bins. The entire sports facility will be fenced. The area will be monitored by a caretaker and will not be accessible to the public during the night hours.
