Karlovy Vary - The company Karlovarské minerální vody (KMV), which owns some of the dilapidated buildings in Kyselka in the Karlovy Vary region, has obtained consent from heritage protection authorities for the prepared project documentation for the renovation of the historic Stallburg house. To commence the renovation as soon as possible, KMV applied today for the issuance of a building permit. This was announced to ČTK by KMV media representative Michal Donath. According to the KMV project, the Stallburg house will contain seven residential units while preserving its authentic appearance. The project will also include securing the slope behind the house against landslides. For this reason, KMV has requested the issuance of a so-called land agreement, Donath noted. "KMV anticipates that they could receive the building permit by mid-October. Securing the slopes behind the house is essential for the reconstruction of Stallburg," Donath stated. There has been about a one-month delay in the plan to start repairs in Kyselka, but not due to KMV, Donath noted. The cooperation between the investor and the heritage protection authorities ultimately reached a successful conclusion in this case, he remarked. "Until the building permit becomes legally effective, KMV will reach out to contractors and select the most advantageous offer that will also ensure compliance with the conditions set by the conservationists," said Donath. KMV must sufficiently secure the former Hotel Praha building in Kyselka by the onset of winter to prevent its condition from further deteriorating. This was mandated to KMV by the heritage protection department of the Karlovy Vary municipality in the administrative proceedings they are conducting with KMV regarding the deteriorating buildings. This will involve, among other things, building a roof to prevent further leakage into the building. The costs for securing the former Hotel Praha are estimated to be about 1.5 to 2 million crowns. KMV also wants to renovate other houses. The company has already received a favorable opinion from the National Heritage Institute in Loket and the heritage protection department of the Karlovy Vary municipality, necessary for the issuance of a land decision for the start of renovations of two other buildings. Along with Stallburg, the Löschner Pavilion will be renovated for 60 million crowns. For this reason, KMV rejected a recent proposal from the Karlovy Vary region to transfer the properties they own free of charge to the region.
