Prague – The expert team for the digitization of building regulations at the Ministry for Regional Development (MMR) has been expanded by Michal Kára, who previously worked at ČSOB and in the company Porsche Engineering Services and has many years of experience in digitizing processes in the financial sector. His main task in his new role will be to enhance the reliability, stability, development, and user-friendliness of the digital building regulation systems, the ministry stated today in a press release. Currently, these systems face criticism from officials and builders since their launch on July 1 due to various issues, and their problematic start has been criticized by both coalition and opposition politicians.
According to MMR, Kára has been part of the team since last week as an "individual parts solution delivery manager, where his main task is to strengthen the reliability, stability, and development of the systems towards maximum user-friendliness and efficiency." At the same time, he has been tasked with further team expansion, negotiating possible temporary collaboration not only with the commercial sector but also with IT experts from other ministries who have offered their assistance.
According to Vice Prime Minister for Digitalization and Minister for Regional Development Ivan Bartoš (Pirates), Kára will be one of the highest-ranking individuals working on the digitization of building regulations. The iDNES.cz server reported today that MMR will pay Kára an hourly rate of 1625 crowns, including VAT, for his services according to the contract. The maximum amount the ministry has set for payment is 605,000 crowns. According to Bartoš, Kára's compensation is comparable to that of a project manager – and is set appropriately.
Bartoš stated last week that even after two months since the launch, the systems still have objective difficulties and do not yet function at 100 percent, but functions will gradually be added. Today, he added that during the summer, the required functions in the area of bulk actions and automation were integrated into the system, and now it is necessary to strengthen stability and reliability in the daily operation of the systems.
