Prague - Urban workshops, breakfasts with world architects, as well as tango in the park, bicycle rides, or strolls through Prague will be offered by the reSITE festival from Friday to Sunday. Today, experts from the fields of urban design, architecture, planning, and finance will gather at the DOX Center for Contemporary Art in Prague to discuss sustainable planning strategies for modern cities. The international reSITE festival is taking place in Prague for the second time. The expert conferences at DOX will feature, for example, the chief urban planner in the planning department of New York, Alexandros Washburn, or the Dutch architect and urban planner Kees Christiaanse. They will discuss topics such as Metropolis in Central Europe and Infinite Resources - people as the most valuable capital of any city. The festival will also enliven several locations in the metropolis, and a festival pavilion will be built, for instance, at Karlovo náměstí. It will showcase world architects specializing in the future of global metropolises. Spanish architect Ginés Garrida will present a project that transformed an expressway in Madrid into a vast public park. Architect María Aiolová from the futuristic New York studio Terreform One will present provocative visions of what cities might look like in 2100. The international designers' breakfast, organized as a talk show with selected conference participants, should also attract its audience. Thematic bike rides through interesting Prague architecture or an urban workshop for children and parents organized by the Proměny Foundation are also prepared.
