At the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University, he worked for 33 years, from 1991 to 2024, as the head of the studio and a prominent figure in the educational and architectural environment. Petr Suske graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University in 1975. Before 1989, he worked at the Research Institute of Local Economy (VÚMH) and abroad – in Algeria and Belgium. As early as 1984, he was a founding member of the unofficial association SEA – the Ecological Architecture Group, a platform for architects, engineers, and doctors addressing ecological issues in architecture. In 1992, the group transformed into an architectural office that further developed the principles of ecological building. Petr Suske was a pioneer in his architectural work, advocating for the use of natural and local materials, energy-saving technologies, and a considerate relationship with the environment. Among his most famous realizations are the House with an Umbrella, Hotel Park Holiday in Benice, Clay Fortress in Průhonice, Skyscrapers near Mladá Boleslav, and the L'Ocelot residential building in Vysočany. The final farewell to Petr Suske will take place on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 11:10 AM in the Central Ceremony Hall at Olšany.
