Kladno – The new design of the Kladno Sítenský bridge will be proposed by architect Josef Pleskot. The bridge is in poor technical condition, and the leadership of Kladno is preparing to build a new one in the coming years. The city approached Pleskot based on a decision by the councilors, he accepted the offer, and will create an architectural and technical study. This was reported today by Lucie Steinerová, spokesperson for the Kladno city hall.

"The study will explore all possibilities and propose the planned removal of the existing bridge, as well as the project, technical, and architectural solutions for the new bridge, including landscaping in its immediate vicinity," stated Pleskot, who is among the leading Czech architects. He significantly contributed, for example, to the revitalization of the Lower Vítkovice area.

The Sítenský bridge was built in the 1960s, is over one hundred meters long and 15 meters high. The structure, for example, connects the Sítná area with the city center. "The Sítenský bridge is a strategic location for transportation in Kladno," added Mayor Dan Jiránek (ODS). Currently, traffic for trucks is restricted on the bridge.
