Praha 10 received a fine from the antimonopoly office for the reconstruction of the cinema

Brno - The chairman of the Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS), Petr Rafaj, confirmed a fine of 200,000 crowns for the municipal district of Prague 10. The fine was imposed on the municipality for errors in the tender documentation for the selection process for the completion of the reconstruction of the Bio Vzlet cinema. The decision is final; the municipality must pay the fine.

According to the office, the municipality made a mistake by specifying specific product names for all used materials in the project documentation for the tender process. "The accused committed an offense by favoring certain suppliers and products by specifying technical conditions in the tender documentation through direct links to specific products from the supplier," stated the decision of the first instance by the office and imposed a sanction of 200,000 crowns on the municipality.

The municipal district filed an appeal against the office's decision to the chairman of the ÚOHS. It defended itself by stating that the tender documentation also allowed for other technologically similar solutions. However, Petr Rafaj did not accept the objections of the appeal and confirmed the decision of the first instance.

The municipal district can appeal his decision by filing a lawsuit at the Regional Court in Brno, but this does not have a suspensive effect on the payment of the fine.
