Praha 7 has selected a designer for the new look of the town hall

Prague - Prague 7 selected a designer for the reconstruction of the new town hall. The winner of the international architectural competition is Atelier bod architekti s.r.o. This was reported today by the mayor of Prague 7, Jan Čižinský (KDU-ČSL/Prague 7 for itself). The municipality plans to start the construction modifications of the office building during the next year.

"I consider this a great success on a city-wide scale and a sign that a public architectural competition is the right method to choose the best project,"
said the mayor. The preparation of project documentation will take about six months. After that, the actual reconstruction should begin.

The decision to purchase the administrative building at U Průhonu 38 was made by the councilors against the opposition's objections last November. The purchase cost 90 million crowns. According to the mayor, the repair is expected to cost 100 million crowns. This decision came after several years of complications that accompanied the acquisition of a new headquarters. The original leadership of the town hall planned an investment of about one billion crowns.
