TJ Zbrojovka Vsetín wants to build a sports hall in Vsetín

Vsetín – The representatives of Vsetín discussed today the construction of a sports hall that TJ Zbrojovka Vsetín wants to build on Tyršova Street. If the city allows the hall to be built on its land, the building should transition to city ownership after 50 years. The approved concept of sports facilities in Vsetín, which the representatives had previously approved, also includes the construction of the hall.

The new sports facility is expected to occupy about a third of the current football pitch's land, with the remaining part remaining available for football players, where two smaller pitches should be created. Vsetín's footballers are expected to have a new pitch at the reconstructed stadium in Ohrada. Work there is supposed to begin this year with demolitions, and the new football pitch with an athletic track should be completed within two years.

According to Mayor Jiří Růžička (KDU-ČSL), the pitch at Ohrada should be built first, followed by the new hall on Tyršova Street. TJ Zbrojovka Vsetín will only start the construction of the hall if it receives a subsidy for it.

Opposition representative Michal Berg (Coalition for an Open Vsetín) suggested whether it would be possible to intervene in the design of the hall, as he believes a so-called green roof would be suitable. "Representatives of TJ Zbrojovka declare during the discussions that this is an architectural proposal that is open for further discussion, considering elements of greenery on the facades, regarding the green roof it is possible to discuss it," Růžička stated.

Today, the representatives approved the public announcement of the intention to grant TJ Zbrojovka Vsetín a real estate construction right and also approved a memorandum of cooperation with the physical education unit.
