Prague - In the second year of the Think Arch competition for students and young architects, the duo Martin Prokš and Marek Přikryl won in the category for architects under 40 years old with a building that complemented the ecological swimming pool in Honětice near Kroměříž. Among the student works, the jury selected the best proposal by Jindřich Ráftl titled Re:location, which represents a ground station for a space elevator. The theme of the competition was sustainability and more efficient use of materials and energy in architecture. A total of 52 works were submitted to the competition. The organizers sought architecturally high-quality works that contribute to the environment and quality of the built environment with their concept. The aim of the exhibition is to promote young and progressive architecture. It is announced by the Association of the Centre for Czech Architecture. The winners among the "older" architects, the studio Prokš Přikryl Architects, won with the realization of an increasingly popular type of artificial swimming pool with a natural water purification process. They utilized the original agricultural cooperative building for the project. They preserved the reinforced concrete skeleton and filled the space between the columns with a refreshment area, dining room, sports equipment rental, and sanitary facilities. The entire building can open to all sides thanks to large gates fitted between the columns. The building is part of the regeneration of the estate into a tourist complex. The second place in the under 40 category went to the Raketoplán studio for the construction of a barn in Benešov near Semily, and the third place belongs to the Archport studio for House Babu in Prague Kyje. The jury awarded second place among student works to the team of authors Eliška Dytrychová, Zuzana Tomková, Dominika Taklová, Šimon Dušek, Ondřej Novák, Alnur Nurmakhanov for the Manešovická Station project, a project that has been published several times and recognized by other experts. The third place among students went to Vendula Urbanová with the project House with a Theater in a Village for Janov near Litomyšl.
