Telč (Jihlava Region) - In Telč in the Jihlava Region, the reconstruction of the so-called Lanner House has begun, where the workplace of the National Heritage Institute (NPÚ) will be located. The repaired former Jesuit dispensary is expected to serve the regional heritage specialists by mid-2011. After structural stabilization and dehumidification, most of the building elements should be refurbished. ČTK was informed by the director of the Telč NPÚ, Libor Karásek. "For example, windows should only be replaced if they are rotten or unsuitable. We want to show that the house can be repaired without throwing out the original items and replacing them with new ones," said Karásek. After the removal of modern extensions and the cleaning of the entire building, the main construction work will begin in the spring of next year. Among other things, it will be necessary to repair the trusses, facade, install an elevator, and a gas boiler room. According to Karásek, construction costs will reach 79 million crowns, which will be covered by the state budget. The Telč NPÚ workplace for the Vysočina Region is temporarily located in a building of Lesy ČR and in the former synagogue. "All sections will work in one building. The premises will also provide facilities for, for example, educational events for the public, which we currently hold in rented spaces," Karásek added. Lanner House is an original baroque structure remodeled in the style of classicism; it served as a Jesuit dispensary, an establishment for lodging elderly members of the order. The town purchased the house in 1929 from Richard Lanner. It was sold as a cultural monument to the Ministry of Culture in 2004.
