Žďár nad Sázavou

Žďár nad Sázavou – A new city park will be created in Žďár nad Sázavou in the Klafar area, where new residential buildings are being constructed. The town hall has already selected a studio that will prepare the project documentation. The park is expected to be developed in stages. For the initial modifications of the approximately two-hectare area, the city has allocated 2.5 million crowns in its budget for next year. The mayor, Martin Mrkos, informed journalists about this today.

"The space is quite large, and there is a bike path nearby," the mayor stated. There is growing housing development nearby. "Given how the Klafar housing estate is dynamically developing and the fact that the eighth district of Žďár has already emerged, this form of civic amenities is appropriate," said Mrkos.

The park along Sázavská street is expected to include greenery and a network of paths, as well as playgrounds and water features. The project documentation will be prepared by the Brno company Atregia, which won the tender. "We approached eight studios," Mrkos said. He added that it is a contract worth almost 1.5 million crowns. The city requested that the team also includes specialists in landscape architecture, water management, and transport construction.

Next year, the city plans to start preparing the area of the future park using soil excavated from the Velký Posměch pond during its reconstruction.

The twenty-thousand-strong Žďár nad Sázavou is considered one of the green cities, according to previous statements from the town hall, with around 9000 trees growing within its territory. Last year, a specialized company restored tree lanes in 12 locations. The city is also trying to return disappeared country roads to the landscape, planting trees and shrubs along them as well. This year, the fourth country road towards the village of Vysoké was restored.
