The reconstruction of the building in the center of Brno, where KB used to be, has begun

Brno - The reconstruction of the building at the corner of the Brno streets Kobližná and Kozí near Freedom Square has begun, where the Komerční banka used to be located. After the reconstruction, Hello bank will occupy the ground floor, and apartments and studios will be created on the upper floors. It should be finished by July, project manager Jana Ježková informed ČTK today.

The building was constructed in 1993 on the site of the former Althanský Palace, which was damaged by bombing in 1944. Although it was not necessary to demolish it, it was ultimately torn down. Komerční banka vacated the building a while ago, just like several other branches in the city. The property has been acquired by the company Palác Kobližná.

In seven floors, there will be ten two- or three-room apartments, mostly around 100 square meters in size. There will be nearly 50 studios ranging from one to three rooms, typically sized between 40 to 60 square meters. Additionally, there are two already sold offices. The price per square meter is over 100,000 crowns. Most of the spaces are currently available for purchase, with a smaller portion sold or reserved.

Conversely, of the 11 parking spaces in the underground garages, only one is currently free, and there will also be two motorcycle parking spots available. "The house also has a courtyard that will be accessible to owners or tenants, and there will be a decorative garden with a pond and a café," Ježková stated.

In the historic center, the former buildings of Czech Television also changed ownership two years ago. The building on Běhounská Street was acquired by the company Swantonfield, which is reconstructing it; it is not yet clear what will be there and when. More than a year ago, the company spoke of a restaurant and offices. The Typos Palace on Jezuitská Street was acquired by the company Magnum Mall. They have not discussed their plans yet, and no construction work is visible from the street.
