Prague – On Monday evening, architect Jan Línek passed away, who collaborated with architect Vlado Milunić and was among the founders of the Czech Chamber of Architects (ČKA). He was 81 years old. His brother Jiří Línek informed ČTK today.

Línek graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague in 1966. Among his most notable constructions are retirement homes, for example in Bohnice, Malešice, Chodov, and Háje, or a residence for sisters in Prosek, which he designed in the 1970s and 1980s together with the Czech architect of Croatian descent Vlado Milunić. He is the author of the Bumerang villa in Býchory, the Hvězda Senior Residence, and the Hagibor Social Care Home in Prague.

In 2023, Línek received an award from the Ministry of Culture for his contributions to architecture. He was recognized for his lifelong effort to create a dignified and welcoming environment for seniors.
