Znojmo - The Znojmo City Hall has restricted advertising in the historical center. According to Mayor Vlastimil Gabrhel, billboards and advertising panels must not disrupt the view of historical buildings, the panorama, and the overall impression of the city as it has been thus far. Therefore, Znojmo councilors approved new guidelines for the signage of buildings and the placement of advertising panels in the town's heritage reserve, which will take effect on January 1. Building owners will thus face stricter conditions for displaying advertisements.

In Znojmo, various advertising banners have so far been visible, which are hung on the facades of buildings in the town's heritage reserve, for instance by real estate agencies, advertising agencies, or political parties. "The heritage reserve can boast preserved historical buildings or their ensembles and urban infrastructure, such as fountains or statues. However, these treasures must not be significantly disrupted by construction interventions from the new era," described Znojmo spokesperson Zuzana Pastrňáková.
Textile advertisements for various cultural or sports events, for example for historical grape harvest festivals, can still be hung on buildings. "Their placement is only possible in designated areas with the consent of the Znojmo City Office," noted Pastrňáková. Conditions for placing signs in front of shops and restaurants are also changing. One establishment may have a maximum of two double-sided boards or one single-sided board.
