Architecture Beyond the Center - Invitation to the Liberec Conference

On March 14-15, 2014, the final conference of the project Architecture Beyond Centers will take place in Liberec, organized by the Faculty of Art and Architecture at TU Liberec in collaboration with the company Architectura, the architectural offices Kamil Mrva architects, Knesl + Kynčl architects, and the Society for Legal and Economic Education. The project is co-financed by the European Social Fund and the state budget of the Czech Republic. The aim of the two-year project was to map quality architecture in smaller settlements in the Czech Republic as well as abroad, which often remains overlooked, and to seek conditions under which high-quality construction can be achieved even in remote locations.

Among the foreign participants of the final conference who have confirmed their attendance are architects: Luigi Snozzi (Switzerland), Kengo Kuma (Japan), Hans Ibelings (Netherlands), John O'Reilly (Ireland), Murray Fraser (United Kingdom), Herwig Spiegl (Austria), Irakli Eristavi (Slovakia), Vasa Perovič (Slovenia), Antoni Domicz (Poland), Rolf Kuhn (Germany), Todd Saunders (Norway), Siiri Vallner and Indrek Peil (Estonia), Henrieta Moravčíková (Slovakia), Carme Pigem Barceló (Spain). The Czech side will be represented by educators from the Faculty of Art and Architecture and other project partners: Zdeněk Fránek, Jiří Suchomel, Antonín Novák, Petr Kratochvíl, Petr Volf. The conference will be held in the new spaces of the Regional Gallery in Liberec in the renovated building of the former spa and will be accessible to professionals and architecture students.
