Ivan Reimann
Müller Reimann Architekten

The third lecture of the spring cycle will present the German architect of Czech origin Ivan Reimann, co-founder of the Berlin studio Thomas Müller Ivan Reimann Architekten, which has long been dedicated to architecture and urbanism in the German capital.
In his lecture, he will focus on Berlin as an extraordinarily complex urban organism, in which historical breaks, societal transformations, and current urban challenges are reflected. Using examples from his studio's projects, he will demonstrate how, despite the fragmented character of contemporary city life, one can contribute to its development as a meaningful whole.
The lecture will also offer a broader reflection on the relationship between architecture and the city, inspired by the thoughts of the Italian architect and theorist Aldo Rossi. It will raise the question of whether today's society, shaped by economic pressures and short-term political decisions, is still capable of creating a city as a long-term collective work.
Organized by Pěstuj prostor, z. s., in collaboration with Západočeská galerie v Plzni, and with the support of the city of Plzeň, the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, and the Czech Architecture Foundation.
