Thursday, April 7, 2016 / 19:30
Kino 35, Štěpánská 35, French Institute in Prague
Mariabruna Fabrizi: Field and Wall The work of the Microcities studio is presented through two parallel perspectives: on one side through its architectural and urban projects, and on the other through topics centered around the developing online atlas of art, architecture, and media Socks (socks-studio.com). Both layers are largely interconnected and influence each other. All projects of the studio arise from research, competitions, and commissions, as well as from the creation of texts and curatorial activities.
Mariabruna Fabrizi studied at Roma Tre University in Rome and is the founder and partner of the Paris architectural studio Microcities. Together with Fosco Lucarelli, she is currently conducting independent research realized on the pages of Socks-studio.com. She is a co-curator of the main exhibition at the Lisbon Architecture Triennale titled Form of Form.
Małgorzata Pizio-Domicz: Architecture and Small Towns The lecture will present her initial projects and realizations created in the public sector as well as those that Małgorzata Pizio-Domicz worked on with her husband in their own studio. M. i A. Domicz is a small family studio that processes building designs in Opole, Poland, and its surroundings. They strive for dignity and simplicity akin to minimalism, which is neither common nor easily accepted in regional towns like Opole.
Małgorzata Pizio-Domicz studied architecture at the Polytechnic in Poznań. From 1980 to 1990, she worked in state project enterprises. Since 1990, she has collaborated with Antoni Domicz. In 2014, they were jointly awarded an honorary recognition from SARP, the highest award of the Polish Association of Architects for lifetime achievement.
Program changes reserved. Reservations are not possible. Lectures will be simultaneously translated into Czech. Free admission, rental of headphones for translation: 50 CZK At the event, it will be possible to purchase T-shirts and publications from the Circle, including the new anthology Texts on Architecture 2014–2015 Swiss Inspirations.
