PRAHA - The architectural initiative Letná sobě! is organizing another in a series of public discussions dedicated to Letná. This meeting will focus on the issue of the vanished district of Old Holešovice and primarily on the question of the future urban and architectural development of this area. The mayor of the Prague 7 district, Mr. Marek Ječmének, has also promised his attendance.
Old Holešovice was, until the 1970s, a picturesque historical village that had almost a "Mala Strana" character. Its unnecessary widespread demolition transformed the entire area into an urban chaos that unfortunately persists to this day. Old Holešovice urgently needs a new urban concept that would help reconnect the severed fabric of historical streets and create space for quality contemporary architecture. This issue will be addressed in the third discussion organized by the architectural initiative Letná sobě! Panelists, including architects and art historians, will present some possibilities for future development. The discussions will take place in spaces kindly provided by the National Technical Museum. The start is planned for 6:30 PM.
