In the June PechaKucha Night, graphic designer, critic, and design educator Tomasz Bierkowski will present his work, leading a typography workshop and researching graphic design. Also present will be director, performer, and live art experimenter Jiří Císler, one of the creative minds behind the project Cinema Royal, which primarily focuses on a new way of perceiving cinema as a hidden experiential event in unique architectural objects. Sergej Kára from OZ Vagus creates innovative projects to help homeless people, aiding thousands in need each year. The graphic studio KAT aims to challenge the misconception that visual identity is just a logo and that the logo must primarily be a pretty picture. Adam Kobrizsa will introduce the online communication platform Mindforum and the non-profit organization Mindspace, which was created to increase awareness of the smart city concept. One of Mindspace's projects is Danube Flow – Danube Calling (2012), aimed at drawing public attention to the Danube River. Silvia Lovasová works as a designer in the studio trivjednom, focusing on the application of digital technologies in authorial design. Cina Marcinková is the founder and designer of the Slovak fashion brand Drevená Helena (2012), known for its minimalism and simplicity. The collections consist of jewelry, accessories, and clothing with simple cuts in neutral color shades. Boris Németh specializes in documentary and report photography within several authorial cycles and series. Recently, he published a book titled On the Road, which is a new selection of his work from the period of 2007 to 2013. Péter Pozsár is one of the founders of the socially conscious camp – Hello Wood, which has grown into a diverse international community of designers over the past four years. The June PKN will also feature Pyré, a Slovak magazine about flavors, colors, scents, and faces. The author focuses not only on the taste on the plate but also on design, which makes food appear more colorful, on travel, which makes it smell more diverse, and most importantly, on the people with whom it can be best enjoyed. Milota Sidorová studied landscape architecture, graphic design, film production, urbanism, social research, and human resource management at various schools in Europe, Asia, and America. All these interests converge on the topic of the city, which she works on as a coordinator of the international urbanism festival reSITE. We can also look forward to Zuzana Žabková, who engages in video art, video performance, choreography, installation, sound art, and their intersections.
