The new president of ČNK ICOMOS is Martin Horáček

On February 29, 2024, a plenary session of the Czech National Committee ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites) took place in Prague. The main topic was the election of new leadership, the Executive Committee of the Czech National Committee ICOMOS.

According to the statutes, the term of the current leadership has expired. The new president was elected by a majority vote, doc. PhDr. Martin Horáček, Ph.D. "I would like us to have all the necessary fields represented in the committee and to be reliable advocates for monuments, from archaeological to artistic, historical, modern, and cultural landscapes," stated the new president of the Czech National Committee ICOMOS, Horáček, as one of his priorities.

The vice presidents elected were prof. Ing. arch. akad. arch. Václav Girsa and Ing. arch. Karel Kuča. Mgr. Martina Potůčková was elected as the General Secretary and Treasurer.

The newly elected executive committee will work in the following composition: Tomáš Bistřický, Ing. Martin Čerňanský, Ph.D., Ing. arch. Tomáš Drdácký, Mgr. Dalibor Halátek, Ing. arch. Miloslav Hanzl, Ing. Dagmar Michoinová, Ph.D., doc. PhDr. Josef Štulc, prof. Ing. arch. akad. arch. Václav Girsa, doc. PhDr. Martin Horáček, Ph.D., ing. arch. Karel Kuča, Mgr. Martina Potůčková, and Ing. Vlastislav Ouroda, Ph.D.

At the plenary session, prof. Ing. arch. akad. arch. Václav Girsa was newly elected as the honorary president of the Czech National Committee ICOMOS. Doc. PhDr. Josef Štulc was newly elected as an honorary member of the Czech National Committee ICOMOS. Congratulations were extended to Josef Štulc and Ing. arch. Olga Bašeová on their significant anniversaries.
