Schüco WoodDesign Windows: Ideal for Mountain Projects

With the new windows Schüco AWS WoodDesign, the world manufacturer of aluminum profiles, Schüco, is entering the wooden window segment. Its systems maintain the durability and stability of aluminum material, which handles demanding climate conditions, such as in mountainous areas, better than wood. The design transformation occurs simply by applying wooden decorative strips to the inner side of the aluminum profile of the sash.

"Schüco aluminum windows are top products, but in some projects, the technical surface of aluminum had its limits in the interior; people wanted to match the windows with wooden floors and furniture. That’s why we welcome the new Schüco AWS WoodDesign, which shows that Schüco can do wood too," says Jakub Gašparík, deputy commercial director of DAFE-PLAST Jihlava, which implements projects with Schüco systems.

Among the first to positively react to the innovation presented at the For Pasiv fair are architects and designers of apartment buildings in mountain resorts. "The most responsive to the novelty are mountain projects, with interiors made of natural materials, primarily wood. With the Schüco WoodDesign cladding, we can now perfectly match the interior side of the window filling to the color of the wood used, for example, on the floor, walls, or furniture. Moreover, on the exterior, the windows still feature the noble material of aluminum, which very well withstands extreme climatic conditions in the mountains," adds Jakub Gašparík from DAFE-PLAST Jihlava.

With the new Schüco WoodDesign, the investor has the option to choose from seven wooden décors: Pure, Natural, Walnut, Chocolate, Gris Beige, Savanna, and Super White. After consulting with the implementation company, they can also choose additional wood species individually. Specifically for the wooden surface of Schüco AWS WoodDesign, two new shapes of rosettes have been developed - a handle with a rectangular rosette and a handle with a round rosette. In addition, a standard window handle with an oval rosette is also available, which achieves burglary resistance up to RC 3 in the locking version.

The aluminum-wood windows Schüco AWS WoodDesign are available for block window systems and balcony doors Schüco AWS 75 BS.HI+ (75 mm basic depth, High Insulated), AWS 75 BS.SI+ (75 mm basic depth, Super Insulated), and AWS 90 BS.SI+ (90 mm basic depth, Super Insulated). This creates a stable and durable window resistant to outdoor weather conditions, featuring the design of natural material in the interior while retaining the benefits of aluminum windows: the best thermal insulation, narrow visible widths, and high transparency.
